Planet Earth First

Operation: Build A Forest 2030

Climate change represents enormous challenges AND vast opportunities for us to conquer the climate crisis and work toward a zero carbon future!

Planet Earth First is dedicated to a zero carbon future by reducing our carbon footprint with the planting of trees, trees and more trees.

What is a Carbon Footprint?

A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases that are generated by our actions and lifestyles.

The average carbon footprint for a person in the United States is 16 tons. Offsetting your carbon footprint is easy, small changes such as eating less meat, line drying your clothes, planting trees or a garden can make a big difference.

Who We Are

Planet Earth First is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Park City, Utah. It is our mission to help preserve this planet we call home for future generations by conserving resources, planting new trees and researching environmental science. We will reduce and reuse recyclable construction materials. We will teach the people in our community, especially our youth, the benefits and power of trees! We will develop them into stewards of planet Earth by teaching them how to plant and care for trees, plants, and shrubs native to our beautiful part of the world.

Operation: Build a Forest 2030

Our goal is to plant 50,000 trees by the year 2030. That's 5,000 trees every year for the next ten years. Trees are a valuable resource that naturally filters carbon out of the air, while at the same time helping to revitalize soil and emitting oxygen. Some fully mature trees can absorb 48 lbs. of carbon every year.

Imagine what 50,000 mature trees can do – that would be 2,400,000 lbs - or 1,088 metric tons of carbon filtered every year.

Join us in revitalizing our precious planet by planting trees and learning what else can be done to protect and replenish this planet we all call home.

Youth Research

Environmental research is a vital part of what we do. Come and learn with us how our planet works and what it needs

At Planet Earth First, we are dedicated to helping to renew our environment. The first step in this process is education. We need to get to the heart of what makes our planet tick, and research will be key to everything we do.

Planting Plants

Nursery

Trees are an important renewable resource, help us to do our part in planting more of them

Trees, shrubs, and other plants are a crucial part of our ecosystem. With the proceeds from the other aspects of Planet Earth First we will be growing new saplings and transplanting them outside where they can benefit us all. Be a part of our nursery and learn how to plant and care for this critical resource.
